Silent Symphony
I lay awake hearing the silences of the night
The air is cool, the night calm
Only the sky is blazed with tranquil stars
Adding to the night’s exquisite semblance
I seem the only one awake
accompanying this dark silent noise outside my
window
The streets are deserted, the trees silent
except for a faint rustling sound to an
occasional breeze
I can see the lights of the lampposts,
and the shadows they make on the leaves of the
trees
They appear ghost-like and dark
as the silence of the night implores them to a
hush
But sleep continues to evade my thoughts as I
wonder about this silent symphony
Happening outside on the street.
I am a struggling writer who
tries to write with meaning and feeling through the few masterpieces
that I have produced. Thus, I am ever so diligent at achieving my
goal through my writing of poems and short stories.
