Quint-Careers - Indispensable Writing Resources

Quint-Careers is a site dedicated to job and career hunters.  Through articles, tools, tips, resourceful links and more, this award winning site seeks to team people up with the careers they are seeking.

Their section entitled Indispensable Writing Resources is divided into seven sections, each section containing a plethora of resources for the writer seeking work - resources you need to get the job, and even resources you didn't think you needed.

Reference material makes up section one of the site, and includes a detailed listing of material available in print: encyclopedias, dictionaries, biographies, yearbooks, almanacs, atlases, and indexes.

Writing style guides, the second section, yields a large listing of books (complete with purchasing links) on writing styles, both general and subject specific.

The third section, writing and journalism jobs, lists a ton of job resource links for writers, journalists, and publishers.  This is a very handy list of links to have, especially for the freelancer.

Internet reference resources for the writer can be found in section four of this site, which are separated by libraries, general reference material, dictionaries and other writing resources, and other collections of reference sites on the web.  There are some really useful resources here.

The fifth section, writing related websites, gives you the links to the sites on the web where you can find general and subject specific information on writing.  This is where you'll find whatever you're looking for that you couldn't find on Quint-Careers.  The lists of links are divided into these four sections, which are then divided into subsections: on-line writing labs and centers, general writing/grammar resources, subject specific writing resources, and miscellaneous collection of writing related sites.

Section six provides a comprehensive list of online style guides.  Guides for citing electronic resources, preparing annotated bibliographies, research guides, Modern Language Association format, and a bunch more.  This is another list to keep handy for any serious writer.

Finally, web search engines, the last section here, gives a good list of major search engines to use when browsing the web for information.

All in all, I would suggest Quint-Careers as reference of resource and as a good job search site for the literary professional.
