Slipped quietly into my life
No bells or whistles
Just a slow comforting realization
As I gingerly unwrapped
The greatest present ever
Life began upon receipt
Of your love
Distortion
distorted views of reality
swim across jaded eyes
the sky opens and hell falls down
crushing sanity
scrambling perception
surface of distortion grows
panic grows in anxious minds
the earth cracks and terror climbs out
swallowing thought
destroying reason
remains of conviction crumble
blowing into clouded thoughts
the wind blows and pain seeps in
overwhelming senses
devastating psyche
then come the screams
and all is silent
