Semi-Pleasant Plane Ride
By Casey Allen Mezera
I see
the absolute
resolution in your starry
blue and shrewd
cruel eyes
She cries
incessantly as we
climb into the pressure
and you sit and censure while
staring squarely
at me
I know
what you’re
thinking, with that
cold feeling sinking
deep, deep
inside
You want her
to stop disrupting
and corrupting your
chance for a semi-
pleasant plane
ride
You
want me
to stifle and
suffocate; while I
I want you to contemplate
your position
Because
in twenty years when
you’re older and living
the life you paved for her
she’ll be paying
for your
Social Security
