The Journal

Journal Keeping for the Creative Writer
Blogging: The Journal of the 21st Century
I want to talk about the Blog: by now most of us know what a
Blog is, and if you don't know, you're about to find out.
The Blog is the journal of the 21st century; it is the electronic diary;
it is the way to go when you have something to say and want the world to
listen. Some of its messages are intelligent and though provoking,
others are just down-right non-sense. Either way, they're a popular
medium and serve wonderful purposes at times.
Personally, I didn't discover the world of Blogs until after they became
so popular. But when
I did
begin to use them, I found a whole new world of possibilities for my
creative writing.
There seems to be no other experience like the one I have when I'm
sitting at my computer with an empty text box, watching the little line
flash, awaiting the next word. I know that people are going to be
reading what I write. I know that what I write will touch someone.
So the question is, how do I want to touch people right now?
What is on my mind that I'd like to express to the world?
I find this type of writing to be a different freedom than the pen and
paper: I find the quickness of my typing serves to deflect any censor I
might indulge by the slow and steady glide of my pen. Thus I find
myself being a different kind of creative with my words than I would
normally be. That is the special quirk my fellow writers might want
to experience for themselves.
Here's a list of sites that offer Blogging services if you don't already
have one, you might want to try it:
